划龙舟是一项起源于中国南方的传统文化体育活动，最早出现在战国时期，人们在急鼓声中划刻成龙形的独木舟，做竞渡游戏，以娱神与乐人，是祭仪中半宗教性、半娱乐性的节目。
Dragon boat rowing is a traditional cultural and sports activity that originated in southern China. It first appeared in the Warring States Period. People carve dragon shaped canoes amidst the sound of drums and engage in racing games to entertain gods and people. It is a semi religious and semi entertaining program in the ritual.
